Ottumwa -- Ivan Aurrecoechea poured in 26 points and grabbed 25 rebounds and Indian Hills hammered Harcum (Pa.), 104-86, Saturday night in the HyVee Classic.  The sophomore's yeoman effort allows IHCC to head into its Christmas break with an unblemished 13-0 record.

Aurrecoechea got help from Antonio "Booman" Williams, who posted career highs of 24 points and 10 assists against the 24th-ranked Bears.  Jamel Allen added 17, tying his career-best, and Shane Gatling provided 12 points in the third game in five days that saw IHCC reach the century mark in points.

Trailing by 15 at halftime, Harcum made one run at the Warriors, cutting into a 17-point deficit and climbing to within 55-47.  Aurrecoechea and Allen had back-to-back buckets to push the lead back to double-digits, and Indian Hills eventually built the advantage to more than 20 points.

Myron Gordon tried to keep the Bears in the contest, scoring 26 of his game-high 33 points in the second half.  But none of his teammates had more than two field goals over the final 20 minutes.

There were seven ties and the lead changed hands four times leading up to a 28-28 first half deadlock.  The Warriors went on a 12-0 run at that point, keyed by consecutive 3-pointers by Connor Murrell along with two baskets by Allen and one by Aurrecoechea.

Indian Hills then ended the half with an 11-2 spurt to go on top, 51-36, at the break.

Harcum came into the game averaging 105.5 points a game, but made only 4-of-22 3-point attempts and shot 43 percent.

Aurrecoechea was 11-of-14 from the field and Williams was 11-of-15.

Indian Hills had problems early against Harcum's full-court press, but once they solved it IHCC converted numerous fast-break opportunities over the final stages of the opening half and a good portion of the final period.

The Warriors will be idle until they begin play in the Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout in Arizona at the end of the month.  The eight-team tourney, at Mesa CC, will be played over three days, Dec. 28-30.  Indian Hills opens with No. 18 Central Florida on Dec. 28.
