JONES NAMED ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore David Jones (Sacramento, CA/Panola) has been named the latest Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Jones helped guide the No. 1 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball team to a pair of victories last week.

Jones recorded in his first-career double-double as a Warrior last week to lead Indian Hills to a 94-69 victory at Casper College (WY) on the opening night of the Vista Auto Thanksgiving Classic. In his most dominant showing of the young season, Jones poured in a team-high 22 points to go along with a season-best 11 rebounds.

On Saturday, Jones followed up with an efficient 50.0 percent shooting night as the Warriors dropped Western Wyoming Community College 91-88 to improve to 11-0 on the year.

In the two games, Jones shot a staggering 80.0 percent from the floor while averaging 13.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per contest.

On the year, Jones is averaging 6.3 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor this season.

The sophomore joins teammates Truth Harris (Mount Vernon, NY/Pensacola State) and Don McHenry (Milwaukee, WI/Hawaii-Hilo) to earn ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors this week.

The Warriors are back in action Friday night at the Hellyer Center with a 7:00 PM matchup vs. Sauk Valley Community College. Indian Hills will also host Kankakee Community College at 3:00 PM on Saturday as part of the City of Bridges Classic.
