WARRIORS RANKED NO. 1 FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WEEK

NJCAA DI MEN'S BASKETBALL RANKINGS - WEEK 5

Ottumwa, IA – Following a 2-0 week on the hardwood, Indian Hills Men's Basketball remained No. 1 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball ranking. The Warriors head into the week with a 13-0 record to boast.

Along with the NJCAA No. 1 national rank, the Warriors also claim the top spot in the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Media Poll and the JUCO Hoop Scoop Top 25. The Warriors' 13 victories are tied for the most in the nation and are one of just eight undefeated teams in the NJCAA.

Indian hills earned all 15 first-place votes in the NJCAA poll while collecting 375 points to earn the No. 1 rank for the third consecutive week in the NJCAA rankings.

Indian Hills defeated Sauk Valley Community College (IL) 71-67 on Friday night and Kankakee Community College 75-72 on Saturday afternoon with both wins coming at the Hellyer Center to remain unbeaten. Indian Hills has won 17 consecutive games at home, including an 8-0 mark this season.

Sophomore Eddiean Tirado (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Miami Triple Threat) posted a 64.3 percent shooting clip from three-point range last week while averaging 15.5 points to lead the Warriors in the two wins. Sophomore Don McHenry (Milwaukee, WI/Hawaii-Hilo) added 13.0 points per game for Indian Hills.

Salt Lake Community College (UT), Odessa College (TX), Chipola College (FL), and College of Southern Idaho round out the top five spots in the NJCAA poll for the second consecutive week. The Warriors have defeated four teams so far this season in the current natonal rankings or receiving votes category - No. 8 Dodge City Community College (KS), No. 9 John A. Logan College (IL), No. 22 Northwest Florida State College, and RV Cloud County Community College (KS).

The Warriors will wrap up the first half of the season with the annual Hy-Vee Classic at the Hellyer Center on Friday and Saturday of this week. The Warriors will take on Lake Region State (ND) at 7:00 PM on Friday and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in the latest poll at 7:00 PM on Saturday.
