Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Eddiean Tirado (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Miami Triple Threat) of the No. 1 nationally ranked Indian Hills Basketball team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Tirado and the Warriors picked up two more wins last week to remain undefeated.
Tirado earns his second-career ICCAC Athlete of the Week honor after producing an efficient week to lead the Warrior offense. In two wins, Tirado averaged 15.5 points per game while shooting 64.3 percent from three-point range. The sophomore sharpshooter went 9-14 from beyond the arc and 4-4 from the free throw line while shooting 53.0 percent from the floor.
The team's third-leading scorer on the year, Tirado poured in 19 points on 5-8 from three-point range in a victory at the Hellyer Center over Sauk Valley Community College on Friday night. Tirado also tallied three rebounds and three assists in the victory.
In a win over Kankakee Community College on Saturday, Tirado was 4-6 from deep to finish the night with 12 points.
On the year, Tirado has connected on 33 three-point shots, the second-most in the ICCAC while boasting a 44.0 percent clip from long-range.
The Warriors are back in action this weekend and will host the two-day Hy-Vee Classic at the Hellyer Center. Indian Hills will take on Lake Region State (ND) at 7:00 PM Friday and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College at 7:00 PM on Saturday.
