WARRIORS BOUNCE BACK WITH 31-POINT WIN OVER MCC

Marshalltown, IA – No. 3 Indian Hills Men's Basketball bounced back from just its third loss of the season on Monday night with a dominant 81-50 victory over Marshalltown Community College on the road Saturday night.

The win pushes the Warriors' overall record to 23-3 on the year and clinches an undefeated Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) regular season at 4-0, the first since the 2018-19 seaon. With the victory, Indian Hills improves to 25-2 all-time following a loss in the Hank Plona era.

The Warriors used a barrage of three-point shots to run past the Tigers and sweep the two-game season series from the ICCAC foe. After hitting a season-low four three-point shots in Monday's loss at Missouri State University – West Plains, the Warriors tied a season-high Saturday night with 16 makes from beyond the arc. Indian Hills shot 48.5 percent from three-point range, the team's fourth-best clip of the year.

Seven different individuals connected on a three-point shot against the Tigers, including six with at least two makes from beyond the arc. Truth Harris (Mount Vernon, NY/Pensacola) was a perfect 3-3 from three-point range and finished with 14 points while Don McHenry (Milwaukee, WI/Hawaii-Hilo) led all scorers with 18 points on 3-5 shooting from three.

Freshman Davontae Hall (Chicago, IL/Hyde Park) went 3-4 from three-point range and finished with nine points. Ryan Myers (Brooklyn, NY/Iona) hit a pair from deep and added 11 points in the win.

Sophomore Enoch Kalambay (Gatineau, Canada/Orangeville Prep) once again filled the stat sheet for the Warriors and joined rare company in the Indian Hills record books. With his second made three of the game, Kalambay became the first player since Dijon Farr (2009-11) to record 600 points, 300 rebounds, and 100 assists in his Indian Hills career. Kalambay is just the fifth individual to hit the mark since the 1998 season.

The Warriors connected on the team's first three three-point shots of the game and never looked back. Leading 24-11 midway through the first half, the Warriors went on a 13-0 run and held the Tigers scoreless for nearly four minutes to pull away. Indian Hills led 42-19 at the break. The 19 points allowed are the fewest in a half this since and the least amount allowed since holding Highland Community College (IL) to 15 on January 29, 2022.

Along with the Warriors' efficient shooting night, the defense clamped down on the Tigers over the course of the 40 minutes of action. Marshalltown went 0-9 from three-point range in the opening half and finished the night 2-16 from long range. In two games this year, the Warriors held the Tigers to just 6-37 (16.2 percent) from three-point range and 29.3 percent overall from the floor. The Warriors rank second nationally with a 36.6 percent opponents' field goal percentage on the year.

Indian Hills is back in action Wednesday night at the Hellyer Center against Carl Sandburg College (IL). Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
