KALAMBAY'S 27 CARRIES WARRIORS AT HELLYER

Ottumwa, IA – The No. 6 ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad picked up its fourth-straight win of at least 19 points as the Warriors defeated visiting North Central Missouri College 94-71 at the Hellyer Center Wednesday night.

Sophomore Enoch Kalambay (Gatineau, Canada/Orangeville Prep) posted his second consecutive game with at least 25 point, scoring 27 on the night to lead the Warriors. Kalambay was joined by sophomore Don McHenry (Milwaukee, WI/Hawaii-Hilo) who poured in 21 points on 8-14 shooting to go along with a team-high four assists.

Freshman Davontae Hall (Chicago, IL/Hyde Park) came off the bench to score 14 points, all in the second half while grabbing a career-high eight rebounds. Hall shot 5-8 from the floor, including 2-4 from three-point range to spark the Warrior offense.

As a team, the Warriors shot 52.0 percent on the night, the ninth time this season the Warriors have surpassed the 50.0 percent shooting threshold. Indian Hills also shot 91.7 percent from the free throw line, the team's best mark with at least 10 attempts in a game this year.

The first half saw five lead changes and three ties in the opening 20 minutes of play. The Warriors trailed 24-20 midway through the first frame but used a spark from sophomore Eddiean Tirado (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Miami Triple Threat) to regain the lead, 34-31 with five minutes to play. The Warriors pulled away down the stretch after holding the Pirates to just one field goal over the final 4:15 and took a 46-39 advantage into halftime.

Kalambay scored seven of the team's first 11 points of the first half to extend its lead to double digits. The Warriors led by as many as 26 in the second half to pick up the team's fourth consecutive win and move to 26-3 on the year.

Kalambay, this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week has now posted four 20-point performances this year and seven total in his career. The sophomore shot an effective 11-18 from the floor. Over his last two contests, Kalambay is averaging 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game while shooting 64.7 percent from the floor.

The Warriors are set to wrap up the regular season Saturday night at the Hellyer Center as No. 9 Triton College (IL) makes the trek to Ottumwa. The matchup will be the Warriors' third top-10 matchup this year and eighth vs. a nationally ranked opponent. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
