WARRIORS JUMP SEVEN SPOTS IN NJCAA POLL

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Basketball team climbed seven spots in the national rankings this week, checking in at No. 7 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball poll. The Warriors earned 265 points in this week's rankings, announced by the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Committee on Monday.

The Warriors have opened up the new year with a 3-0 start, including a thrilling win over then-No. 20 Moberly Area Community College on the final night of the Iowa-Missouri Challenge on Saturday night. The Warriors also scored wins at McCook Community College and at home vs. Missouri State University – West Plains.

Indian Hills climbs back into the top-10 of the national rankings after earning a spot at No. 14 in the preseason polls. The Warriors are the top team from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) in this week's poll, ahead of No. 12 Southeastern Community College.

Northwest Florida State College, a team the Warriors will matchup with in Niceville, FL on Tuesday night, held its spot at No. 1 in the national ranking followed by No. 2 South Plains College (TX), No. 3 Odessa College (TX), No. 4 Salt Lake Community College (UT), and No. 5 Vincennes University (IN). The Warriors will also travel to Vincennes for a powerhouse matchup Saturday night in Indiana.

Freshman Kheni Briggs (Kannapolis, NC/Charleston Southern) has powered the Warriors early on this year with a team-high 17.3 points per game. In total, five different individuals are averaging in double-figures for head coach Josh Sash's squad.

Indian Hills is set for a grueling three-game, five-day road trip that pits the Warriors at Northwest Florida on Tuesday night, Coastal Alabama Community College – North in Monroeville, AL on Wednesday night, and a trip to Vincennes on Saturday.
