LABEAUX NAMED ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Trevion LaBeaux (Waterloo, IA/Ames) of the No. 13 Indian Hills Men's Basketball team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon.

LaBeaux was tapped as the conference's top player last week after guiding the Warriors through three grueling road contests, including two against top-five nationally ranked opponents. LaBeaux averaged 20.1 points per game while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor. The sophomore also tallied 37 rebounds to wrap up the week averaging a double-double.

In LaBeaux's first outing last week, the Warriors squared off with No. 1 nationally ranked Northwest Florida State in Niceville, FL. LaBeaux went toe-to-toe with the Raiders and posted 25 points and 14 rebounds, setting a new career-high in each category. LaBeaux shot 10-5 from the floor while going 4-5 from the charity stripe to pace the Warriors.

One night later, LaBeaux upped his performance with new career-highs of 26 points and 19 rebounds in a 62-60 win over Coastal Alabama Community College – North in Monroeville, AL. LaBeaux went 10-20 from the floor for another efficient shooting performance. The 19 rebounds were the most by an Indian Hills player since Torrey Patton grabbed 20 boards on January 4, 2019.

LaBeaux closed out the week with 11 points against No. 5 nationally ranked Vincennes University (IN) while going 4-7 from the floor. LaBaux added four more rebounds and dished out a pair of assists for the Warriors.

LaBeaux has gotten off to a strong start to his sophomore campaign. Through six games, the forward is averaging a team-high 16.2 points per game while pulling down 10.8 rebounds per contest. LaBeaux is one of just 11 individuals in the nation to currently average at least 16.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest.

The Warriors are back in action Tuesday night at the Hellyer Center with a nonconference matchup against Kansas City Kansas Community College. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
