2023-24 NJCAA DI MEN'S BASKETBALL RANKINGS - WEIGHT EIGHT
Ottumwa, IA – Following a key Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) victory, the Indian Hills Men's Basketball team climbed two spots to No. 14 in this week's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball poll.
The Warriors jumped two spots with 163 points in this week's poll, announced Monday afternoon by the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Committee. The Warriors currently sit at 14-4 overall and are 2-0 in league play following a 70-56 win at Southeastern Community College on Saturday night. Indian Hills has now won eight of its last nine contests.
Saturday night's matchup was the Warriors' 11th game this year against a team that appeared in the national rankings at some point throughout the 2023-24 season. Indian Hills is 8-3 on the year in those contests. The Warriors have played six contests against teams in this week's national rankings, winning three of those matchups.
Sophomores Trevion LaBeaux (Waterloo, IA/Ames) and Chris Mpaka (Kinsasha, Congo/Frank Phillips) powered the Warriors in Saturday night's contest with a double-double each as the Warriors ran away in the second half for the team's fourth consecutive win at Loren Walker Arena.
The Warriors' four-game road trip concludes Wednesday night with a 7:30 PM matchup at Kankakee Community College in Kankakee, IL. The Warriors return home Saturday night to take on Carl Sandburg College (IL) at 7:00 PM inside the Hellyer Center.
