NO. 17 WARRIORS PICK UP ROAD WIN AT MSU-WP

West Plains, MO – No. 17 Indian Hills Men's Basketball picked up its second consecutive win with a 73-65 victory on the road at Missouri State University – West Plains Tuesday night. The Warriors move to 18-5 overall on the year.

The Warriors used a late first half surge to build momentum heading into the second half and pull away from the Grizzlies down the stretch. Sophomore Davontae Hall (Chicago, IL/Hyde Park) led the Warrior offense with a team-high 16 points, including 10 in the second half alone.

Sophomore Trevion LaBeaux (Waterloo, IA/Ames) added 15 points in the win while TJ Morris (Queens, NY/Northeastern Oklahoma A&M) chipped in 13 points and Amarion Nimmers (Rock Island, IL/Iowa) tallied 12 points off the bench for the Warriors.

A back-and-forth contest kickstarted the night in Tuesday's nonconference matchup as the two sides jumped out to a 15-15 deadlock at the 11:58 mark of the opening frame. The home team managed to pull away from the Warriors with a 17-5 run. A three-point shot from Nimmers followed by a three-point play from LaBeaux sparked the Warriors over the final minutes of the first half. Nimmers connected on another three in the closing seconds as Indian Hills closed out the half on a 16-6 run of its own to stay within striking distance, 38-36 at the break.

The Warriors used a flurry of second-chances early on in the second half before taking a 43-41 lead at the 17:15 mark, the team's first lead in nearly 15 minutes of action. The Grizzlies went back on top 49-47 until Hall drained a three from the corner at the 13:13 mark. The two sides traded buckets over the next two possessions, but it was Indian Hills that pulled away down the stretch thanks in large part to its continued success on the offensive glass.

The Warriors have now won 10 of their last 11 contests vs. the Grizzlies dating back to 2013.

Indian Hills welcomes a week-long break until returning to action against nationally ranked Moberly Area Community College in Moberly, MO on February 13 at 7:00 PM.
