WARRIORS CLIMB TO NO. 10 IN FINAL NATIONAL POLL

Ottumwa, IA – Following its second win over a top-five team this year, the Indian Hills Men's Basketball team climbed to No. 10 in the national rankings. The Warriors closed out the regular season with a 25-5 overall record.

Indian Hills toppled No. 3 nationally ranked Triton College (IL) Saturday night at the Hellyer Center with a 93-72 victory to cap the regular season. Riding a nine-game winning streak, the Warriors will head into the postseason as the top overall seed in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball Region 11 Tournament.

The Warriors used an impressive performance vs. Triton on Saturday night to secure the team's fifth top-25 win of the year and 13th victory over a team that has appeared in the national rankings this year. The Warriors handed Triton just its second loss of the year and avenged a January 31 defeat to the Trojans in River Grove, IL.

The Warriors received 224 points in this week's poll, climbing three spots from last week's rank. Barton Community College (KS) held the top spot in this week's poll, the final NJCAA poll of the year. South Plains College (TX), Salt Lake Community College (UT), Vincennes University (IN), and Lee College (TX) rounded out the top-five. Indian Hills has now been ranked in the top-10 in the final poll of the year in each of the last five seasons.

Indian Hills will serve as host to the NJCAA Region 11 Championship game at 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 9 at the Hellyer Center. The Warriors will take on the winner of Southeastern Community College and Marshalltown Community College, which is set to get underway Wednesday night in Burlington, IA.
