WARRIORS STUMBLE AT HOME VS. IOWA LAKES

Ottumwa, IA – Two first half goals set the Indian Hills Men's Soccer team back as the Warriors fell 2-0 to Iowa Lakes Community College at home on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors fall to 5-3-2 overall and 0-1-0 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play.

The Lakers struck first in the opening minutes off of a Warrior penalty in the box. Following a save from freshman keeper Matteo Scarduzio (San Seconda Parmense, Italy/Fabio Bocchialini), the Lakers scored off of a corner kick at the 2:09 mark.

Indian Hills put together scoring opportunities throughout the first half, but failed to convert the equalizer. Despite a valiant offensive effort, the Warriors gave up a second goal with just 56 seconds to play in the opening half on a long ball played into the box.

The Warrior defense, backed by Andres Valencia (Bogota, Colombia/Cendi) managed to limit another Laker goal in the second half although Iowa Lakes outshot Indian Hills 14-2 in the final 45 minutes of play.

Scarduzio was tested throughout the match and made five impressive saves over the course of the day.

The Warriors welcome undefeated and No. 2 nationally ranked Iowa Western Community College (6-0-0, 1-0-0) to Schafer Stadium on Sept. 25 for a 3:00 PM match.
