VERDIROSI EARNS ICCAC HONORS AFTER HAT TRICK

Ottumwa, IA – Daniele Verdirosi (Rome, Italy/Araniti) lifted the No. 20 Indian Hills Men's Soccer team to an upset victory over No. 6 Iowa Lakes Community College on Sunday to earn Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors.

The freshman forward netted his first-career hat trick to lead the Warriors to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Lakers. The win propelled the Warriors back into the national rankings, checking in at No. 20 in this week's poll.

Verdirosi's scoring prowess has been on full display. The freshman is tied for the third-most goals in the nation with 12 this season, with 11 of those goals coming in his last eight contests.

Against Iowa Lakes, Verdirosi took advantage of a Laker turnover and buried a shot from 20 yards out for the early 1-0 lead. Verdirosi tacked on another goal late in the first half before finishing off the visitors with a second half penalty kick.

Verdirosi now has three multi-goal efforts this year, all coming within the team's last five matches.

Verdirosi and the Warriors are back in action Wednesday afternoon at No. 1 and unbeaten Iowa Western Community College in ICCAC play in Council Bluffs, IA. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM.
