HOW WE GOT HERE

Indian Hills edged out Iowa Lakes by a half game in the regular season conference standings. The two sides split their regular season series with Indian Hills winning a 3-1 decision in Ottumwa on September 25 before Iowa Lakes earned a 4-2 victory in Spencer, IA on October 15. The deciding factor came down to both team's results against Iowa Western Community College as the Warriors earned a late-season tie against the then-No. 1 team in the nation while Iowa Lakes dropped both contests against the Reivers this year.

In the first matchup between Indian Hills and Iowa Lakes, the Warriors used freshman Daniele Verdirosi's (Rome, Italy/Araniti) hat trick to take the conference win over the Lakers, ranked No. 6 in the nation at the time. Verdirosi helped put Indian Hills ahead 2-0 in the team's second matchup, but Iowa Lakes rattled off four consecutive goals to upend Indian Hills and earn the regular season split.
