Cedar Falls, Iowa -- Indian Hills got first-place efforts from Joshua Raphael, Colton Lanman and the 4x400 relay team on its way to a second-place finish at the Jack Jennett Open at the University of Northern Iowa.
Raphael established a new school record and just missed qualifying for the nationals when he won the 60 meter dash in 6.89. Lanman went 6'-6.75" to take the high jump with his teammate Dion Ryan 2nd, jumping 6'-4.75".
The 4x400 relay unit of Brieon Randle, Jeremy Leath, Raphael and Jovan Parks came in 1st in 3:22.4, setting a school record and becoming the 7th IHCC event to qualify for the indoor national meet in Texas in March.
Raphael's 22.41 clocking in the 200 meters also narrowly missed being a national-qualifying time as he came in 3rd.
In addition to the three first-places for Indian Hills, Raykwon McClenny improved on his qualifying time for nationals with a runnerup finish in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.34.

Chris Kubli, 3rd in the 800 meters in 1:59.52
Javaris Logan, 4th in the triple jump, 41'-7"
Bernard McCann III, 4th in the 60 meters in 7.09
Jovan Parks, 4th in the 400 meters in 50.36, a personal record, and Randle 7th in 51.01
The second 4x400 relay squad of McCann, Damond Anderson, David Buckner and Kubli was 4th in 3:31.21
Nathan Winters, 6th in the shot put with a toss of 50'7.5"
Garret Hinson, 6th in the 3000 meters in 9:40.13; teammates Zachary Hougland (9:43.42) and Cameron Schroeder (9:49.17) were 8th and 9th, respectively, in the 3000
Logan (20'-5") and McCann (20'-4.25") finished 8th and 9th in the long jump
Raykwon McClenny, 8th in the 200 meters with a time of 22.60
The Warriors totaled 89 points, second only to the host Panthers.
Indian Hills travels to Grinnell for the Grinnell College Invite on Feb. 3.
