Ottumwa, IA – In the first United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI) of the year, the Indian Hills Men's and Women's Track & Field teams checked in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

After a dominant start to the season for both squads, head coach Brent Ewing's program's received high praise from the national committees in the first Midwest regional rankings of the year.

On the men's side, the Warriors earned 667.18 points in the rankings, the third-most of any team in the nation and second-most in the Midwest region behind only Iowa Central Community College. Iowa Western Community College is ranked No. 3 in the region, more than 170 points behind the Warriors.

On the women's side, the Warriors check in at No. 3 in the Midwest rankings behind No. 1 Iowa Western Community College and No. 2 Iowa Central Community College. Indian Hills earned 340.37 points in the poll, the eighth most of any team in the nation.

Indian Hills has opened up the 2022-23 indoor season with a number of impressive showings, including the Warriors' latest outings at the Hawkeye Invitational and the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City over the last two weeks. The Warrior men have set a number of school records so far this season, including the 4x400-meter relay, Rivaldo Marshall's (Kingston, Jamaica/Calabar) 600-meter, 800-meer, and 1000-meter records, and C.J. McFerrin's (Alpharetta, GA/Alpharetta) 60-meter hurdle record.

Jahzara Hart (Raleigh, NC/Southeast Raleigh) has opened up her collegiate career with strong showings in the sprint events. Hart currently ranks second in school history in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dash events. Haleigh Hadley (Gilbert, IA/Gilbert) also owns the school record in the women's high jump.

The regional rankings are a strong indication that the Warriors will be ranked in the top-10 of the USTFCCCA National Rankings that will be released on Wednesday afternoon.

Both Warrior squads return to action on January 28 at the Wendy's Pitt State Invitational in Pittsburg, KS.
