The Warriors return to Topeka, KS for the second consecutive year to take part in the Washburn Alumni Invitational. Last season saw the Warrior men capture seven events in the team's season opener at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility while three returning sophomore women produced solid efforts in their collegiate debut.

EWING'S NOTES

"Our staff feels confident that we have assembled the best roster that our program has ever had," stated head coach Brent Ewing. "In my opinion, there are several athletes on this roster that have the ability to win national titles and a few who could very well be representing their respective countries at the next Olympic Games. Although, we won't be competing the entire squad this weekend, we're excited to show the rest of the country a glimpse of what this year's Indian Hills track and field program will look like."

"There's a few school records that I believe could be broken," Ewing added. "I anticipate the women's 200-meter record could be broken by two of our incomers this weekend- Oarabile Tshosa and Kenyatta Grate. I believe Tshosa could also take down the 60-meter record. For the men, Tyrice Taylor will be taking a crack at the 600-yard school record. Ryan Edelman will compete in the weight throw. He's been looking great this fall and coach (Elijah) Barnes believes he's ready to take down the school record that belongs to him (Barnes). I also believe Triston Miller and Cyrus Ways have a legitimate shot at the men's 60-meter hurdle record. I wouldn't be shocked to see Traunard Folson rewrite the 60-meter hurdle record either."

WHAT'S NEXT

Following the season opener, the Warriors will hit the road for the two-day Iowa State Holiday Invitationa at the Lied Recreation Center in Ames, IA.
