Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Brandon Ford (Perth, West Australia/Duncraig) of the Indian Hills Men's Cross Country team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Ford shattered the Warriors' previous school record in the men's 6k event at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, IA on Friday night. Ford set a new Indian Hills mark with a blistering time of 18:25.90 to place ninth overall for the Warriors at the Ashton Cross Country Course.

Ford's time eclipsed the previous Indian Hills record by 69 seconds. The freshman posted a mark of 9:02.20 at the 3k mark before closing out the race in dominant fashion. Ford helped the Warriors place fourth overall as a team.

Ford and the Warriors are back in action September 15 at the Bradley Intercollegiate at Detweiller Park in Peoria, IL.
