MEN'S NOTES

The Warrior men are coming off one of their most dominant performances in school history after placing fourth overall at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, IA on September 1.

  • Following a strong showing at the Hawkeye Invitational, the Warriors soared into the national rankings with a spot at No. 8 in the latest USTFCCCA poll.
  • Freshman Brandon Ford set the new Indian Hills 6k school record in his collegiate debut with a time of 18:25.90, breaking the previous mark by 69 seconds. Ford was tapped as the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for his efforts.
  • Keveroy Venson also eclipsed the previous school record for the Warriors in Iowa City with a time of 18:32.00.
  • In total, the Warriors saw six personal best times at the Hawkeye Invitational.
  • Freshman Moubarik Yago will look to make his collegiate debut for the Warriors on Friday night.

WOMEN'S NOTES

The Warrior women look to bounce back with a full group of effort Friday following the team's season opener in Iowa City.

  • Freshman Brooke Miller led the Warriors with a time of 16:37.00 in the 4k event and will look to build off her collegiate debut on Friday night.
  • Emily Lord and Selket Reid-el rounded out the individual efforts for the Warriors and will look to make an impact in Peoria.

THE FIELD

The lineup of teams at this year's Bradley Intercollegiate features a number of NCAA and two-year programs. This year's field features host Bradley, Marquette University, DePaul University, McKendree University, Carl Sandburg College, Kaskaskia College, Clarke College, among others.

THE COURSE

Detweiller Parl is a popular multi-use destination for Peoria area residents who enjoy running/walking, soccer, volleyball, hiking, birding, and many other outdoor activities. Detweiller Drive, which runs through much of the park, features one of the finest, most diverse collections of oaks around. The early spring show of blooming redbuds, as well as the colorful fall foliage.

WHAT'S NEXT

Both Warrior squads will head to Waverly, IA for the Dan Huston Invitational at the Max Cross Country Course on September 30.
