MILLER, FORD SWEEP ICCAC XC HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Cross Country programs swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week awards as freshmen Brooke Miller (Fairfield, IA/Pekin) and Brandon Ford (Perth, West Australia/Duncraig) were honored by the league office.

Following an impressive showing on both the men's and women's sides at the Bradley Intercollegiate in Peoria, IL on Friday, the Warriors brought home a weekly honor for the second consecutive week. Ford earns his second Athlete of the Week recognition while Miller collects her first-career award.

For the second consecutive meet, Ford shattered an Indian Hills school record to cement himself in the record books. The freshman dashed to an 8k school record with a time of 24:07.30 to place second overall at the Bradley Intercollegiate. Ford's record eclipsed the previous mark by 15 seconds.

Ford's effort helped the Warriors, ranked No. 8 in the nation, to a third-place showing in the 13-team field comprised of four-year universities. Ford now owns the Indian Hills 8k and 6k school records, breaking both marks in his first two collegiate events.

Miller put together a strong showing in the women's 3-mile event in Peoria. The freshman led the Warriors with a time of 19:30 to place 40th overall, and the top junior college runner, in the 99-athlete field.

Miller has now led the Warriors in each of the team's first two meets of the season.

The Warriors return to action September 30 at the Dan Huston Invitational in Waverly, IA.
