EWING NAMED MEN'S COACH OF THE YEAR

Creston, IA – Indian Hills Men's Cross Country Head Coach Brent Ewing has been named the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 DI Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year, announced following Friday night's Region championship at the Crestmoor Golf Club.

Ewing led the Warriors to its most impressive finish in school history at the Region championship, scoring a program-low 43 points while collecting five NJCAA All-Region 11 individual honors, including two first-team selections. As a team, the Warriors placed third overall in the tightest finish in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) history.

The Warriors reached new heights under Ewing throughout the 2023 campaign. Indian Hills saw three program records fall by freshman Brandon Ford (Perth, West Australia/Duncraig) who set the new 8k, 6k, and home meet course records.

Indian Hills set a new program record for highest national rank, checking in at No. 7 in multiple weeks in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DI Men's Cross Country poll.

The Warriors will now set their sights on the upcoming NJCAA DI Men's Cross Country Championship at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, AL November 11.
