"We are excited to be fortunate enough to be traveling down to the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, TX this week for the SCTP/ACUI Nationals," stated head coach Jake Stalzer. "We will be up against some familiar competition as five out of the 10 teams in our division are from the ICCAC conference and the state of Iowa, but it will be nice to be competing for a national title against some unfamiliar teams as well with four being Oklahoma schools and one out of Nebraska.

2023 marks the first year of the ACUI/SCTP national championship after the two organizations merged to co-host the national event. Indian Hills previously competed at the SCTP National Championship in Ohio for the previous four seasons.

"The team has been preparing by practicing the past month getting rounds under their belts in all three disciplines," Stalzer added. "The team is split evenly between returners and freshman. The weather looks warm with most days in the 70's and 80's, however, there is rain in the forecast both days we are scheduled to shoot so we are hoping that will hold off."

The Warriors will be competing in the 10-team junior college Division IV as part of the Classic All Around (CAA) format. CAA teams include the Warriors, Southwestern Community College, and Western Oklahoma State College. The CAA teams will be competing in three separate disciplines – Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays, each 100 targets apiece.
