Waukee, IA – The Indian Hills Sports Shooting team returns to action for the first time during the spring season on Saturday as the Warriors head to the Simpson Shootout.

The Warriors make their spring debut this weekend with the two-day shoot at the New Pioneer Gun Club. The Warriors will take part in all four disciplines this weekend - skeet, trap, sporting clays, and super sporting and will compete against Simpson College, Grand View University, Waldorf University, and Iowa Western Community College.  10 individuals will make the trip for the Warriors including multiple Warriors who will compete in all four disciplines.

STALZER'S NOTES

"The team is definitely looking forward to getting out and competing in the Simpson Shootout this weekend. This will be a great warmup and test to see where we stand going into nationals here in a few weeks.

We have most of our top guns back for this spring, however, the lineup will look a bit different.  This will be both Jordan Patterson and Deven Renard's first time competing in skeet and sporting clays. Both have improved greatly on the skeet field and have been shooting well so far at practice this spring, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they do outside of the comfort zone of our home range.  The team will look towards Aidan, Carson, Haley, Cooper, Mason, and Zane to lead and be in the hunt for our top five.  Emma and Scarlet will only be shooting trap, however, it will be good to get them in a competition setting after a four month hiatus."

The Simpson Shootout serves as the final regular season shoot for the Warriors before the team makes the trek to San Antonio, TX for the ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target National Champoionship March 18-23.
