ANDERSON, ARAGON EARN WEEKLY HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Madie Anderson (Mt. Union, IA/Winfield Mt. Union) and freshman Tatum Aragon (Fort Collins, CO/Fort Collins) swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week awards for the No. 17 ranked Indian Hills Softball team.

The duo helped lead the Warriors to a 3-1 record over the weekend in Branson, MO to improve to 5-3 overall on the year.

Anderson, the 2022 ICCAC Pitcher of the Year, posted a 1-1 record in the circle last week while allowing just one earned run. The sophomore went five innings in an 8-3 win over Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa on Saturday for her second win of the year. Anderson struck out five batters and allowed just one hit and one walk with one unearned run.

In a narrow 2-0 loss to undefeated Murray State College (OK), Anderson pitched all six innings with just one earned run allowed. Anderson scattered four hits and struck out three batters while lowering her season earned run average to 1.35.

Aragon, the team's top hitter throughout the early portion of the season extended her hitting streak to five games with seven hits over the weekend. The freshman outfield went 2-4 in a 5-2 win over Neosho County Community College (KS) on Saturday before going 3-4 with three runs and three RBI in a 13-0 win over Fort Scott Community College (KS) on Sunday.

Aragon leads the Warriors with a .444 batting average, a .516 on-base percentage, and 12 hits on the year.

Indian Hills is back in action this weekend at the Midwest Bash in Evansville, IN for six games in three days. The Warriors open up the weekend on Friday against Kankakee Community College (IL) and Edison State Community College (OH).
