- The Warriors will travel to Volunteer State for a non-league doubleheader Wednesday afternoon, the first meeting against the Pioneers since 2010.
- Indian Hills will then travel to the highly competitive JUCO Extravaganza in Oxford, AL, home to the 2024 NJCAA DI Softball World Series.
- The Warriors are coming off a season-opening weekend at the SCC Turf Tournament in Burlington, IA with a 2-2 record.
LAST TIME OUT
The Warriors opened up the year with a pair of losses in Burlington before closing out the weekend with two victories on Sunday afternoon.
- Indian Hills fell to both NIACC and Kirkwood on Friday, but bounced back to drop Rock Valley 6-5 and Black Hawk 18-2.
- As a team, the Warriors posted a .330 batting average on the weekend.
- Freshman Peyton Raley (.583) and sophomore Eva Fulk (.500) powered the offense with seven hits apiece over the weekend series.

RAYOS' NOTES
"After coming off four very intense and competitive games this past weekend, we jump right into tough competition again this week. We open up our trip down south at Volunteer State and play a set of six games against some of the best competition in the country this weekend at the JUCO Extravaganza. We played with a lot of energy, good momentum this past weekend and we were excited to see our bats come alive on Sunday. It will be great to see our staff in action again as we move forward this week."
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Warriors will travel to Volunteer State for the team's first out-of-state contest of the year. Originally scheduled to play the Pioneers last year to open the 2023 season, the doubleheader was cancelled due to unfavorable weather, making Wednesday's twinbill the first meeting between the two clubs since 2010, and just the third all-time matchup.
- The Pioneers have jumped out to a 6-4 start on the year, including four consecutive wins by at least five runs each.
- After opening the year 1-4, the Piooners have won five straight, including a win over No. 3 nationally ranked Wallace State (AL).
- Through 10 games this year, the Pioneers are averaging 7.5 runs per game and have totaled 30 extra base hits.
- Volunteer State is 3-3 at home on the year.
- Wednesday's matchup will be both the first trip to and first opponent from the state of Tennessee for the Warriors since competing against the Volunteers in Hendersonville in 2010.
- The Warriors are 1-2 all-time vs. the Pioneers, winning its lone matchup in 2009 in Cullman, AL.
- First pitch temperature from Gallatin is expected to be 66 degrees.
JUCO EXTRAVAGANZA OUTLOOK
For the second consecutive year, the Warriors will travel to Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL, home of the 2023 and 2024 NJCAA DI Softball World Series. The three-day event serves as a national preview, featuring a bevy of nationally ranked squads.
- The Warriors will open up the weekend on Friday against Snead State (AL) who is off to a 7-8 start on the year.
- Indian Hills will also take on No. 2 nationally ranked Northwest Florida State (18-0) and No. 3 nationally ranked Wallace State (AL) (8-4).
- The Warriors will close out the weekend against NJCAA Midwest District foe Three Rivers (MO) on Sunday.
- Indian Hills went 2-2 at last year's event in Oxford, including a thrilling 5-4 loss to Northwest Florida State, last year's national runner-up.
- Weather in the Oxford area looks to be favorable throughout the weekend with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60's and mainly sunny skies.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Warriors return to the Hawkeye State for the Iowa Western Round Robin March 1-2 in Council Bluffs, IA. The Warriors will take on North Iowa Area Community College and Dakota Wesleyan University on March 1 and Hutchinson Community College and North Iowa Area on March 2.
