REID, FULK EARN ICCAC WEEKLY HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomores Eva Fulk (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny) and Sara Reid (Central City, IA/Central City) swept the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Warriors to three league wins last week.

Reid lands her fourth ICCAC Pitcher of the Week honor after a 2-0 record in the circle last week while Fulk powered the offense to land her second ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week accolade for the Warriors. In total, the Warriors have now been recognized with eight weekly ICCAC honors this season.

Reid flourished in the circle once again last week, going 2-0 in two ICCAC matchups for the Warriors. The sophomore tossed five innings with one earned run in a 10-1 win over Marshalltown Community College to go along with a career-high 11 punchouts without allowing a walk. Reid followed up with a complete game victory over Southeastern Community College while adding six more strikeouts as the Warriors moved to 16-12 on the year.

With the two wins, Reid upped her record to 7-5 on the year with a 2.53 earned run average and 61 strikeouts for the Warriors.

Fulk continued to pace the offense as the sophomore batted .727 (8-11) on the week with half of her hits going for extra bases. Fulk posted a 2-2 performance with four runs, three RBI, and three walks in a rout of Marshalltown and added a 3-4 performance with two doubles against Southeastern Community College to highlight a productive week.

Fulk upped her team-leading batting average to .429 with the impressive week on the diamond. Fulk also leads the Warriors in runs scored (29), hits (39), triples (3), stolen bases (9), walks (10), and on-base percentage (.485).

The Warriors are back in action April 2 in Mattoon, IL for a non-conference doubleheader against Lake Land Community College.
