WARRIORS HOLD STRONG AT NO. 9 IN NATIONAL POLL

NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING POLL - TEAM (WEEK 3)

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Wrestling team checked in at No. 9 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Wrestling Poll, announced Wednesday afternoon. The Warriors are ranked No. 9 for the second consecutive poll.

The Warriors received 31 points in the third national poll of the year. Indian Hills was ranked No. 13 in the first poll of the year in November and were tied for ninth in the second poll in December.

The Warriors used a successful showing at the 31st Annual Art Kraft Memorial Tournament on December 10 to maintain its spot inside the top-10 of the national poll this week. Sophomore Matthew Lewis (Centerville, IA/Centerville) led six individual placers at the Art Kraft Memorial Tournament with a first-place finish in the 141lb bracket.

Indian Hills, who currently sits at 3-0 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) dual meets this year, is the second-highest ranked team from the league. Iowa Western Community College is tied at No. 2 while Ellsworth Community College is ranked No. 11. Iowa Central Community College checked in at No. 12 in the national poll while North Iowa Area Community College is tied at No. 20.

Lewis is one of five Warriors in the individual national rankings, the most for the team this season.

Clackamas Community College (OR) held the top spot in this week's poll followed by Iowa Western, Western Wyoming Community College, Pratt Community College (KS), and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College to round out the top five.

The Warriors will return to action on January 15 at the Central Missouri Open before resuming ICCAC action on January 18 at Iowa Western. The Warriors' final home dual of the year is slated for January 25 against Iowa Central.
