Centerville, IA – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Wrestling National Championship brackets have been revealed as the Indian Hills Men's Wrestling team gears up for next week's event.
The Warriors, who placed third at the NJCAA North Central District Championship on February 11, received all 10 bids to the national tournament which is set for March 1-2 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA.
Three individuals earned one of the top 15 seeds in their respecitve brackets. Sophomore Arojae Hart (Murphysboro, IL/Murphysboro) earned the No. 4 seed at 133lbs while freshman Isaac Gibbs (Prosper, TX/Rock Hill), the 2024 NJCAA North Central District Champion, was awarded the No. 7 seed at 125lbs. Sophomore Jaquan East (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) earned the No. 9 seed at 174lbs for the Warriors.
Sophomore Peyton Asbury (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg) wil head to Council Bluffs as the Warriors' lone returner from last year's national qualifier group. Asbury, who will compete in the 165lb bracket, finished one match shy of earning a spot on the podium as an NJCAA All-American.
The Warriors closed out the year winning four consecutive duals, including three Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) matchups. Indian Hills finished the year 4-2 in the ICCAC with the most team points scored at 213.
