SIZING UP THE REIVERS

After opening up the season with a 1-3-1 record, the nationally ranked Reivers have rattled off five consecutive wins, including four shutouts. Iowa Western is coming off a 2-0 ICCAC victory over Iowa Central Community College on September 21.

Iowa Western ranks third in the nation with 56 goals on the year and seventh overall with 124 shots on goal this season. The Reivers have used 14 different goal scorers on the year, including nine with at least three scores this season.

WARRIOR NOTES

Entering Wednesday's match, the Warriors rank 17th in the nation with a 0.78 goals against average and have not allowed more than two goals in a game all year long. As a team, Indian Hills has posted five shuouts this year.

LAST TIME OUT

The two sides split a pair of regular season matches last season before Iowa Western ended the Warriors season in the NJCAA Region XI Championship with a 4-3 victory.

The Reivers have taken three of the last five matchups with the Warriors.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

The Warriors have been anchored by a preventive defense, managed by sophomore Abbie Bailey (Redditch, England/Arrowvale) with freshman Sara Cogoli (Erbusco, Italy/IIS Luigi Einaudi) in net. Cogoli has posted a 0.56 goals against average on the year with saving .800 percent of shots on net.

Sophomore Dare Kroeten (St. Louis Park, MN/St. Louis Park) has posted six goals on the year, including three game-winners while fellow sophomore Mifumi Sasanuma (Tokyo, Japan/Shutoku) has added four goals and two game-winners on the year.

Iowa Western's Hanna Schimmer has been the driving force on the Reiver offense with 12 goals on the year, the fifth-most in the nation. Teammate Pilar Casas leads the NJCAA with 11 assists this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

Indian Hills will head to Fort Dodge, IA to take on Iowa Central once again on October 1. The Warriors and Iowa Western will meet one more time in the regular season, an October 12 date in Ottumwa.
