WARRIORS DROP FINALE, SET TO HOST POSTSEASON

East Peoria, IL – The Indian Hills Women's Soccer team dropped its regular season finale on the road Wednesday, falling to Illinois Central Community College 3-1. The Warriors conclude the regular season with an 11-7-0 overall record.

The Warriors are now set to host the semifinal round of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI DI Women's Soccer Tournament at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 26 as the No. 2 seed against No. 3 seed Iowa Lakes Community College. Indian Hills earned the second seed after Iowa Lakes suffered a conference loss at top-seeded Iowa Western Community College on Wednesday. The Warriors won a three-way tiebreaker with Iowa Lakes and Iowa Central Community College by way of goal differential to earn the right to host the postseason matchup.

Indian Hills suffered its third consecutive loss to close out the regular season as Illinois Central took its second victory of the year over the Warriors on Wednesday. Indian Hills used a late goal from freshman Mickey Stephens (Centerville, IA/Centerville) to get on the board, but the Cougars' three early goals proved to be too much to overcome. Freshman Nagi Higashi (Osaka, Japan/Osaka Toin) was credited with the assist.

Stephens' goal on Wednesday marked the forward's 10th of the season which ranks in the top-10 in school history for most goals in a single season by a freshman.

Freshman Sara Cogoli (Erbusco, Italy/IIS Luigi Einaudi) stopped five shots in net for the Warriors.

Indian Hills and Iowa Lakes will now square off in postseason play in hopes of earning a trip to the NJCAA Region XI Championship. Iowa Western, the No. 1 seed, and No. 4 seeded Iowa Central will square off on the other side of the bracket.
