Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's and Wome,n's Soccer teams are set to host a full weekend of action on the Indian Hills campus with a doubleheader vs. Iowa Lakes Community College on Saturday followed by a single women's matchup on Sunday.

The Indian Hills women will host a pair of games, the team's fifth and sixth home matches of the year while the men return to Ottumwa for the first time in 18 days.

WOMEN'S SOCCER PREVIEW

WARRIOR NOTES

  • Indian Hills enters the weekend with a 3-1-2 record after a 1-0 shutout at home of Wabash Valley Community College (IL) on Tuesday.
  • Rose Blampain and Sage Prince have paced the Warriors with three goals apiece entering the weekend.
  • Sophomore Sara Cogoli and freshman Maria Melendez have shared time in net, helping the Warriors to three shutouts on the year.
  • The Warriors are currently ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

SCOUTING THE LAKERS

  • The Warriors and Lakers will match up for the first time since the thrilling NJCAA Region 11 Semifinal matchup last season where Indian Hills dropped Iowa Lakes in Penalty Kicks.
  • The Lakers, competing at the NJCAA DII level this season, are ranked No. 19 in the nation and have jumped out to a 3-1-1 start with three shutouts on the year.
  • Through five matches this year, the Lakers are led by Maria Vilhena's seven goals and 17 points while Cameran Rennek has tallied four goals.
  • Michelle Granja has started all five contests in goal with a 2.12 goals against average.
  • Indian Hills is 13-4-3 over the last 20 matchups between the two programs.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS

  • Sunday morning's matchup will be the first all-time meeting between Indian Hills and Western Wyoming.
  • The Mustangs are off to a 6-1-2 start to the year and are currently ranked No. 13 in both the NJCAA DI rankings and the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
  • Western Wyoming is averaging 1.89 goals per game opposed to a 1.22 goals against average.
  • Three players have tallied at least eight points on the year, led by Emma Granthem's nine points on four goals and an assist.
  • Three different goalies have each secured a win this year for the Mustangs, led by Addie Welsh's four victories.

WARRIOR NOTES

  • Ranked No. 13 in both the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer rankings and the United Soccer Coaches Pol, the Warriors head into the weekend with a 3-1-2 overall record on the year.
  • Fernando Pirri and Gustavo Marques have both scored three goals to lead the Warrior attack through six matches this season.
  • Freshman Lucas Bauer and Alex Rodriguez, along with Marques are tied for the team lead with seven points.
  • Three keepers – Kaz Kromwijk, Lennart Fischer, and Harvey Sellers have seen action in net for the Warriors.
