DALEY, DE LOS SANTOS EARN WEEKLY HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – The No. 11 Indian Hills Volleyball team earned a pair of Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Players of the Week on Tuesday. Precious Daley (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) was named the conference's DI Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week while teammate Jarolin de los Santos (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Luis Munoz Rivera) was tapped as the DI Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week.

The pair of Warriors led the team to a 9-1 record to open the season, a feat that earned the No. 11 ranking in the first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Volleyball rankings of the regular season. The Warriors knocked off a pair of nationally ranked opponents and are currently riding an eight-match win streak that includes five consecutive sweeps.

Daley opened up the season in dominant fashion as the second-year Warrior tallied 75 kills and a .488 hitting percentage. Daley's hitting percentage is currently the top mark in the nation. The returning NJCAA Region XI First-Team selection, Daley posted three matches with double-digit kills, including a season-high 15 against No. 4 Utah State Eastern earlier this season. Daley has also served up six service aces on the year.

On the defensive front, de los Santos currently leads the nation with 20 solo blocks on the year. The second-year Warrior posted a season-best five solo stops in a 3-0 win over Scottsdale at the AWC Tournament. de los Santos has also tallied 23 block assists for a total of 43 blocks on the year which ranks tied for third overall in the NJCAA.

Both Daley and de los Santos have been a force for the Warriors on both sides of the ball. The tandem has combined for 86 blocks on the defensive side and 144 total kills on the offensive side – the best marks for a 1-2 punch in the nation.

The duo is back in action Sept. 7 at Carl Sandburg College.
