WARRIORS RUN PAST SCOTTIES ON SOPHOMORE NIGHT

Ottumwa, IA – A third consecutive victory capped off a festive night at the Hellyer Center as the Indian Hills Volleyball team swept Highland Community College (KS) 3-0 on Friday night. The Warriors move to 19-11 overall on the year.

Six sophomores were recognized prior to Friday's match, recognizing the accomplishments and dedication they've provided to the program throughout their careers. Each sophomore contributed to the final box score that helped the Warriors claim its third-straight 3-0 victory and close out the regular season.

The Warriors, who previously lost to Highland 3-1 on Oct. 8, led Friday's match from jump. Indian Hills took all three sets in convincing fashion, 25-16, 25-8, and 25-11.

Sophomore Precious Daley (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) continued to power the offense for the Warriors and led the way with 11 kills with zero attacking errors on the night. Sophomores Anja Vranic (Belgrade, Serbia/Sports Gymnasium) and Melodee Schulte, this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week, anchored the defense while combining for 34 digs on the night.

The Warriors have been on a tear lately, hitting .340 or better in four of the team's last five matches. The stretch of solid play will now head into the postseason with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Volleyball Midwest District Tournament. The Warriors will head to Missouri on Saturday, Nov. 6 with more information to come.

Along with Daley, Schulte, and Vranic, the Warriors also recognized sophomores Zara McCauley (Mount Barker, South Australia/Heathfield), Chantal Paniagua (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Colegio Nuevo Atardecer), and Jentry Schafer (Prescott, IA/Southwest Valley).
