WARRIORS SWEEP THE DAY IN BURLINGTON

West Burlington, IA – No. 6 Indian Hills Volleyball cruised to a pair of victories at the Jimmy John's Tournament on Friday. The Warriors swept both Spoon River College (IL) and Black Hawk College (IL) to move to 12-1 on the year.

Indian Hills defeated both of its opponents in straight sets as the team's last six victories have now all come by way of 3-0 victories. The Warriors defeated Spoon River 25-14, 25-9, and 25-13 before concluding the day with a 25-14, 25-17, and 25-13 victory over Black Hawk.

The Warriors cycled through 12 different individuals in each match to pick up the victories. In the opener, Kinga Michalska (Szówsko, Poland/ZSSCHiO) led the offense with 11 kills in 24 attempts for a .375 hitting percentage. Maggie Paiva (Asunción, Paraguay / Trinity School) added eight kills and Esra Akcay (Izmir, Turkey/Izmir Ozel Obek) posted a team-high three service aces.

Three different Warriors posted double-digit efforts as the Warriors posted 79 total digs in the win over Spoon River, tied for the second-most this season. Sasha Vidal (Asunción, Paraguay / Trinity School) posted a team-high 19 followed by Michalska's 15 and Kiley Heller's (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) career-high 10. As a team, Indian Hills currently leads the nation with 827 digs on the year.

Eight different Warriors posted a kill in the nightcap vs. Black Hawk, led by another 11-kill performance from freshman Michalska. Michalska teamed up with Akcay to post three service aces apiece in the win. Nationally, the Warriors rank fourth with 95 service aces this season.

Hennesys Lalane (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Colegio Luis Munox Rivera) posted 50 total assists on the day to keep a lead on the nation's assists leaderboard with a total of 481 this season.

The Warriors' strong start to the year is highlighted nationally as the team boasts the best mark in nine statistical categories and inside the top-5 in seven more categories.

Indian Hills wraps up play at the Jimmy John's Tournament on Saturday against Highland Community College (IL) at 12:00 PM and vs. Sauk Valley Community College (IL) at 4:00 PM.
