WARRIORS CLIMB TO NO. 4 IN THE NATION
 
Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Volleyball team continued to climb in the national rankings as the Warriors check in at No. 4 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Volleyball Poll, announced by the DI volleyball committee on Tuesday.
 
The No. 4 rank is the highest for the program since the 2015 Warrior team earned the No. 3 spot in the national poll on October 7, 2015. The Warriors were a mainstay in the top-10 throughout the season in a year that saw 32 victories for the team. Indian Hills jumped two spots from its previous rank of No. 6 last week.
 
Indian Hills picked up four more victories this past weekend at the Jimmy John's Tournament in Burlington, IA to improve to 14-1 overall on the year. The Warriors are sporting a seven-match win streak with all seven victories coming by way of 3-0 sweeps. Indian Hills has dropped just nine of a possible 53 sets on the year.
 
The Warriors boast one of the top programs in the nation as the team ranks inside the top-10 in 15 different statistical categories, including the top marks in solo blocks (65), block assists (192) and total blocks (161).
 
Hennesys Lalane (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Colegio Luis Munox Rivera) currently leads the nation in total assists on the year with 534 while Sasha Vidal (Asunción, Paraguay/Trinity School) leads the defensive effort with a nation-best 321 digs this season.
 
Indian Hills is currently 5-1 against teams that are in the national rankings or receiving votes.
 
The Warriors No. 4 rank will be put to the test this weekend in Sterling, CO at the Sheila Worley Tournament hosted by Northeastern Junior College (CO). Indian Hills will take on three nationally ranked opponents in No. 5 Western Nebraska Community College, No. 17 Hutchinson Community College (KS), and No. 19 Northeastern. The Warriors will also play Casper College (WY) in the two-day tournament set to kick off on Friday.
