LALANE, VIDAL NAB WEEKLY HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – A pair of Indian Hills Volleyball student-athletes have been recognized by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) with weekly honors. Hennesys Lalane (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/__) and Sasha Vidal (__) have been tapped as the conference's Athletes of the Week.

The duo become the second pair to sweep the ICCAC's Division I Volleyball Athlete of the Week awards after teammates Larissa Barreiros Scatamburlo (__) and Erica Calderon Rosario (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/__) earned the honors last week.

Lalane and Vidal helped power the Warriors to six wins last week, all by way of 3-0 sweeps. The tandem currently leads the nation in their respective categories and have helped Indian Hills climb to No. 4 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Volleyball Poll.

The team's primary setter, Lalane has served as an all-around force during her final season with the Warriors. The sophomore was named the ICCAC's Offensive Player of the Week and currently leads both the ICCAC and NJCAA in total assists with 534 this year. Lalane totaled 162 assists last week while also making an impact at the net. The sophomore totaled 15 kills while making just one hitting error in the team's six wins.

Vidal has made an immediate impact on the defensive front for the Warriors and nabbed this week's ICCAC Defensive Player of the Week honor. The libero ranks first in the NJCAA with 321 digs this season. Vidal totaled 112 digs last week to pace the Warrior defense.

The Warriors are back in action this weekend at the Sheila Worley Invitational in Sterling, CO. Indian Hills will compete in four matches, including three against nationally ranked foes.
