WARRIORS PICK UP 20TH WIN WITH 3-0 SWEEP

Ottumwa, IA – No. 2 Indian Hills Volleyball picked up its second win in less than 24 hours with a 3-0 sweep of Northeast Community College (NE) on Thursday afternoon at the Hellyer Center. The Warriors move to 20-1 overall on the year.

Less than a full day removed from upending two-time defending national champion Iowa Western Community College at home, the Warriors handled the Hawks in straight sets on Thursday – 25-9, 25-11, and 25-17. Indian Hills has now won 13 games in a row. The 20-1 record is the best start for a Warrior program under head coach Lyndsey Michel since the 2014 season where the team went 22-1.

The Warriors rolled past the Hawks as all 16 players saw action on the court Thursday. Kinga Michalska (Szówsko, Poland/ZSSCHiO) produced seven kills while Larissa Barreiros Scatamburlo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Colégio Liceu Franco-Brasileiro) and Jenna Vallée (Pornichet, France/Lycee Aristide Briand) each added six winners. Scatamburlo was the team lead with 10 digs as well.

Indian Hills produced 18 block assists on the day, tied for the third most this season as Erica Calderon Rosario (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Salome Urena de Henriquez) provided five stops at the net.

Four different Warriors produced at least two service aces on the day as Indian Hills posted 13 total aces, the second-most in a match this year. Hennesys Lalane (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Colegio Luis Munox Rivera) tallied four while Lisa Bonnefoy (Paris, France/Marguerite de Flandres), Maggie Paiva (Asunción, Paraguay/Trinity School), and Sasha Vidal (Asunción, Paraguay/Trinity School) each added a pair.

With the win, Indian Hills moves to 7-0 all-time vs. Northeast.

Next up for the Warriors is a trip to Waterloo, IA to take on Hawkeye Community College at 1:00 PM.
