MICHALSKA, DE LOS SANTOS NAMED ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – The No. 2 ranked Indian Hills Volleyball team picked up another pair of Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday. Freshman Kinga Michalska (_) and Jarolin de los Santos (_) landed weekly honors from the conference office.

de los Santos earned her second consecutive ICCAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after leading the Warriors to three victories last week. The sophomore middle blocker tallied a total of 27 blocks in the three matches, including nine solo stops. de los Santos totaled 14 of her blocks in the biggest match of the week, a 3-1 victory over two-time defending national champion Iowa Western Community College. de los Santos totaled seven solo blocks and seven block assists in the win.

de los Santos currently leads the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Volleyball ranks with 36 solo blocks on the year along with 104 total blocks.

Michalska becomes the third different Warrior to earn ICCAC Offensive Athlete of the Week honors after her performance on the court in the team's three wins last week. Michalska posted a total of 27 kills on the week, including 13 in a 3-1 road win at Hawkeye Community College, tied for the most this season for the outside hitter. Michalska totaled a career-high 36 attempts vs. Hawkeye to finish the week with 71 attempts.

The Warriors now head to Hutchinson, KS for the Blue Dragon Classic hosted by Hutchinson Community College this weekend. Action gets underway Friday at 12:00 PM vs. Jefferson College.
