KING NAMED ICCAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Centerville, IA – No. 1 nationally ranked Dutchess King (Lansing, IL/Thornton Fractional South) went undefeated at the York Open over the weekend to earn Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors for the Indian Hills Women's Wrestling team.

King, ranked No. 1 in the 101lb weight class in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's Wrestling rankings, went 3-0 in York, NE to claim top honors for the Warriors. King opened the tournament with a pin over Iowa Central Community College's Alexdira Bruce with a pin in just 1:11. King followed up with a 15-2 tech fall in the semifinals to advance to the championship bout.

King continued her dominant run with a 12-0 tech fall over Alanis Rios of Waldorf College to take home medalist honors for the Warriors.

King is now 11-4 on the year and has not lost since December 3. The freshman is 10-1 on the year in the 101lb weight class.

The top-ranked team in the nation returns to action Wednesday night at No. 3 Iowa Western in an ICCAC matchup in Council Bluffs, IA. Action gets underway at 6:00 PM.
