Centerville, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Wrestling squad continued its run at the top of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's Wrestling poll. The Warriors are ranked No. 1 for the third consecutive poll with 168 points.

Along with the No. 1 team rank, the Warriors placed 16 individuals across nine weight classes in the latest national rankings, including three No. 1 ranked wrestlers.

The Warriors, who are 4-1-1 in dual matches this year, held strong at the top spot after its most recent outing at the York Open where Dutchess King (Lansing, IL/Thornton Fractional South) and Shammilka Miranda Diaz (Puerto Rico/Eugenio Guerra Cruz) claimed top honors in their respective bracket while five individuals placed overall.

Indian Hills is ranked No. 1 while Umpqua Community College (OR) checks in at No. 2 and Iowa Western Community College is ranked No. 3. Southwestern Oregon Community College is ranked No. 4 while Carl Albert College (OK) and Iowa Central Community College are tied for fifth. Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) member North Iowa Area Community College checks in at NO. 8 in this week's poll.

Following their impressive performance at the York Open, both King and Diaz are ranked No. 1 in the latest individual rankings. King held onto her top spot in the 101lb class for the second consecutive poll while Miranda Diaz climbed three spots to take over at No. 1 in the 116lb bracket.

Freshman standout Eliana Bommarito (Brighton, MI/Hartland) maintained her place at No. 1 in the 235lb class for the second consecutive poll. Bommarito is joined by ellow teammates Karla Padilla Zepeda (South Weber, UT/North Ridge), ranked No. 2 in the bracket and Brooke Burns (Wellington, KS/Wellington), ranked No. 4

Kaitlyn Hain (Wellington, KS/Wellington) climbed two spots to No. 3 in the 136lb division and sits behind teammate Alondra Rosado Martinez (Carolina, Puerto Rico/Colegio Amarlieen) who is No. 2. Nolani Snagg (Katy, TX/Seven Lakes) moved up to No. 4 in the 155lb class while Tiffany White (Oak Park, IL/Oak Park River Forest) jumped two spots to No. 4 in the 191lb division.

The Warriors will face its biggest challenge of the year in the junior college ranks as Indian Hills travels to No. 3 Iowa Western Friday afternoon for a 1:00 PM ICCAC dual with the Reivers. Iowa Western currently boasts 13 individuals in the national rankings.
