SHANNON LEADS WARRIORS AT LES DUKE INVITE

60TH ANNUAL LES DUKE RESULTS

Grinnell, IA – Freshman Alyssa Shannon (Newton, IA/Newton) continued an impressive start to her collegiate career with a top finish for the Indian Hills Women's Cross Country team on Saturday at the 60th annual Les Duke Invitational, hosted by Grinnell College. Shannon placed 22nd as the Warriors ran unattached as a team.

After leading the Warriors as the top finisher in the season opener last week in Pella, IA, Shannon posted a time of 24:55.6 on the 6k course to place 22nd overall for Indian Hills at the Grinnell Golf Course route on Saturday.

Shannon was joined by teammates Morgan Klaus (Bloomfield, IA/Davis County) and Cheyenne McGhee (El Paso, TX/El Paso) at the meet on Saturday. Klaus posted a time of 28:35.4 while McGhee recorded a time of 30:39.9.

Following an open week next week, the Warriors return to action on September 24 for the Grand View Invitational in Ankeny, IA.
