SHANNON NAMED ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Alyssa Shannon (Newton, IA/Newton) has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Women's Athlete of the Week for the Indian Hills Women's Cross Country team. Shannon led the Warriors at the Grand View Invitational on Saturday.

The freshman has gotten off to a strong start to her collegiate career, and Saturday's meet proved to be no different. Shannon placed 15th overall with a new personal best time of 20:31.8. The mark topped Shannon's previous personal best by nearly 40 seconds.

Shannon's showing at the Grand View Invite helped the Warriors to a sixth-place finish.

In the team's first three meets of the year, Shannon has now led the Warrior charge in each event.

The Warriors return to action at 9:45 AM on October 8 at the Seminole Valley Stamped in Cedar Rapids, IA.
