WARRIOR TRIO EARNS POSTSEASON HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – Three members of the Indian Hills Women's Cross Country team have been recognized with postseason honors following a successful showing at the 2022 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Championship meet.

Lizeth Flores (Harvard, IL/Harvard) and Alyssa Shannon (Newton, IA/Newton) were both named to the Second-Team All-Region XI team while sophomore Morgan Klaus (Bloomfield, IA/Davis County) earned Honorable Mention All-Region XI honors. Both Flores and Shannon also earned Second-Team All-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) recognition for their accomplishments.

Flores dashed to a 10th place finish at the NJCAA Region XI Championship in Fort Dodge, IA on Sunday to earn the multiple postseason honors. Flores nearly set a new personal best with a time of 20:44.71. Flores has continued to ascend the leaderboards in each of the team's last three meets.

Shannon placed 12th overall at the championship with a time of 21:02.31 to earn both All-Region and All-Conference recognition. The freshman standout adds to a lengthy list of accolades throughout the 2022 season, including multiple national runner of the week honors.

Klaus received All-Region honors after placing 23rd overall at the meet and in the top-15 of all NJCAA Division I runners at the championship. Klaus also received Honorable Mention All-Region XI honors as a freshman in 2021.

The Warrior program has now earned multiple individual postseason honors in each of the last six seasons dating back to 2017.

Indian Hills will wrap up the 2022 season at the NJCAA National Championship at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, FL on November 12.
