Marcus Graham, Men's Cross Country

The Indian Hills Community College Athletic Department has tabbed Freshman Emily Murphy (Women’s Soccer) & Sophomore Marcus Graham (Men’s Cross Country) as Augusts Student-Athletes of the Month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in both their respective sport, as well as the classroom.

Graham, a transfer-sophomore from St. Croix, Indiana, didn’t let tough conditions in Bettendorf, Iowa slow him down from making IHCC history over the weekend. He became the first-ever cross country athlete to win a Region XI race at the Pre-Region XI Time Trial last Saturday. He not only blistered the course to an individual victory, but he also broke the Indian Hills Community College school record in the process. Coach Brent Ewing said if Graham, “After coming off an All-American performance on the track last spring, Marcus entered the summer with a very focused mindset of what it was that he wanted to achieve this fall. Being able to win that race in the fashion that he did is a testament to his unwavering desire to be one of the best in the Nation come November”. Graham and the Warrior Cross Country teams will return to action next Saturday at Grinnell!
