Ottumwa, IA – For the third time in his Indian Hills career, sophomore Gaspar Glaudas (Sainte Tulle, France/Shattuck St-Mary's) of the men's golf program has been selected as the SwingU National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Player of the Month, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Thursday. Glaudas was recognized for his efforts throughout the month of April.
Glaudas, the No. 1 ranked golfer in the nation, has now garnered three monthly honors from the association, previously earning the April 2023 and November 2023 SwingU Golfer of the Month awards as well as the Fall 2023 SwingU Golfer of the Fall honor.
Glaudas posted four top-10 finishes, including a first-place finish in four events throughout the month of April. Glaudas finished below par in each event for a total 19-under throughout 12 rounds of action.
The sophomore captured the Western Illinois Intercollegiate against a complete field of four-year univesrities. Glaudas posted a remarkable 10-under par with round scores of 68-67-68-203 to run away from the field, winning by 12 strokes.
Glaudas finished tied for second at the NJCAA Central District Championship at Tiffany Greens Golf Club with a 3-under 213 as the Warriors took home the top three individual spots at the national qualifier.
Glaudas also posted a fifth-place finish at the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational with a 3-under and finished tied for seventh, and the top junior college finisher at the Highland Meadows Intercollegiate with a 3-under.
In the most recent NJCAA Scoreboard Powered by Clippd national rankings, Glaudas holds a sizable advantage in the individual rankings. Glaudas leads the field by 30.27 weight points. The next four golfers in the rankings are separated by less than 12 weighted points.
Glaudas and the Warriors will now head to the upcoming NJCAA DI Men's Golf National Championship in Hobbs, NM May 14-17 at Rockwind Community Golf Course.
