WARRIORS OVERWHELM MCCOOK 94-57 AT HOME

Ottumwa, IA – No. 8 Indian Hills Men's Basketball rolled to a 94-57 victory over McCook Community College (NE) on the opening night of the Bowling RV Classic at the Hellyer Center. The Warriors have now won four in a row and improve to 5-1 on the year.

The Warriors jumped all over the Indians early as 12 different players scored in the first half alone. A 14-2 run midway through the first frame gave Indian Hills a 30-18 lead as J'Vonne Hadley (St. Paul, MN/Northeastern) and Adetokunbo Bakare (Newark, NJ/NJIT) both connected on three-point field goals. The Warriors continued its offensive surge into the second half and led by as many as 37 en route to the team's highest scoring effort of the season.

Sophomore Taj Anderson (Queens, NY/Quality Education) poured in a season-high 22 points, two shy of tying a career-high. Anderson brought the Warrior fanbase to its feet with a barrage of three's in the second half as the guard scored 17 of his points in the final 20 minutes of play.

Fellow sophomore Braxton Bayless (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny) added 12 points on 5-6 shooting and went 2-2 at the line to boost his season free throw percentage to an 88.2 percent clip. Bayless added a team-high four assists in the win.

Andre Harris (Cleveland, OH/Wright State) contributed 11 points off the bench while shooting 4-6 from the floor. Hadley added nine points while Yacine Toumi (Meudon, France/Arkansas Little Rock) and Isaiah Marin (Phoenix, AZ/New Mexico) each scored eight for the Warriors.

The Warriors controlled the glass with a 54-33 rebounding advantage, including a 16-11 edge on offensive boards which led to 17 second-chance points. The Indian Hills bench continued to play at a high level as the reserves are averaging 56.0 points per game over its last two contests.
