ANDERSON, WARRIORS ROUT MARSHALLTOWN 96-61

Ottumwa, IA – No. 12/7 Indian Hills Men's Basketball rolled to a 96-61 victory over visiting Marshalltown Community College in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) action at the Hellyer Center. The Warriors extend their winning streak to six games.

Indian Hills (20-5, 2-1) outscored the Tigers 53-30 in the second half and closed the game on a 40-18 run to pick up the team's second win of the year over Marshalltown. As a team, the Warriors shot 52.2 percent from the floor and assisted on 21 of the team's 36 baskets. Indian Hills is now averaging 21.3 assists per game over its last four contests.

Sophomore Taj Anderson (Queens, NY/Quality Education) scored a game-high 19 points on 7-13 shooting for the Warriors. The three-time reigning ICCAC Athlete of the Week, J'Vonne Hadley (St. Paul, MN/Northeastern) scored 17 and Davin Zeigler (Cleveland, OH/Bowling Green) added 14 points on 5-7 shooting.

Indian Hills has now earned at least the No. 2 seed in the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Tournament with the potential to earn the No. 1 seed and home court advantage. The Warriors will head to Burlington, IA on Saturday to square off with No. 7 Southeastern Community College at 7:00 PM. The Blackhawks are currently 2-0 in ICCAC play and 19-3 overall.

Wednesday's game saw the Warriors jump ahead early as Braxton Bayless (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny) connected on a three-point to shot for a 12-8 lead. Indian Hills extended its lead to double-digits in the first half before the Tigers clawed back to bring the game within four. The Warriors closed the half on a 16-4 run, capped by a three-point play from Anderson to head into the locker room on top of the Tigers 43-31.

Indian Hills pushed its lead to 20 on an Anderson layup less than three minutes into the second half. Hadley scored five straight points to ignite the Warriors' end-of-game run that resulted in a lead by as much as 38 late in the second half as the Warriors carried out the win.

Saturday's nationally ranked matchup has all the makings of an all-time great matchup in the historic series. Southeastern previously clipped the Warriors 88-86 on Jan. 8 in the Hellyer Center. GoHillsTV will be on site to air Saturday's contest.
