IHCC Men Drop Opener

Spencer, Iowa -- The Indian Hills men's soccer team went on the road for their first match of the season, a conference test against Iowa Lakes, and dropped a 2-0 decision to the Lakers.

The Warriors were unable to take advantage of Iowa Lakes' having to play a man down the entire second half as ILCC starting goalkeeper Trey Hoofkin received a red card in the 39th minute after obstructing an IHCC player who was one-on-one in front of the keeper. Backup goalkeeper Ollie Harrison stopped six Indian Hills shots after replacing Hoofkin.

The Warriors had 22 shots on in the contest and eight of them were on goal, but they were unable to find the net against the Lakers' goalkeepers.

IHCC keeper Gabriel Ivlev had six saves.

Indian Hills will host Hawkeye Community College, a program in its first season of collegiate soccer, on Wednesday at the IHCC field in Ottumwa.
