Warrior Men Lose 2-0 at Marshalltown

Marshalltown, Iowa -- Gaining a measure of revenge for an Indian Hills victory earlier in the season, third-ranked Marshalltown won the rematch, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon. IHCC (9-5, 8-5) had surprised the Tigers in an earlier 2-1 win on the Warriors' home pitch. This time around Marshalltown (10-2-1, 9-2-1) got goals from David Kromah in the first half and Artur Aguiar in the second along with shutout goalkeeping from Rafael Pereira to stifle the Warriors.

Kromah took a long pass from Jose Izarra and scored the early goal, 13 minutes into the match. Aguiar connected on a penalty kick after an MCC player was taken down by an IHCC defender in the box in the first three minutes of the last half.

The Warriors were unable to score against the Tigers' defense and goalkeeper Rafael Pereira, who stopped three shots on goal. Indian Hills keeper Gabriel Ivlev also had three saves. Marshalltown had the edge in shots, 11-7.

Indian Hills is idle until hosting Scott CC Oct. 15 at the IHCC field.
