Four Goals by di Piero Help Slam Johnson County

Ottumwa -- Leonardo di Piero scored four times and Akean Shackleford, Reshon Phillip and Nathaniel Mederos Fonda each had two goals as Indian Hills claimed the Wells Fargo Cup with a 12-0 blowout of Johnson County on Sunday.

Two goals in less than a minute started the big day for di Piero who added another goal in the opening half and a final tally early in the second half.  He added an assist in the Warriors' fourth straight win to start the 2017 season.

Shackleford began the scoring with a goal less than six minutes into the contest and had another one following di Piero's pair.

Phillip scored late in the first period and had one of IHCC's six second-half goals.  Mederos Fonda connected on both of his goals in the last half and the scoring ended with back-to-back goals by Oliver Hunt and Victory Hugo. 

Ten different Warriors notched assists on the dozen goals with Rodrigo Pasucal and Rodrido Paredes each picking up two.

Gabriel Ivlev and Ross Dalton divided the goalkeeper duties for Indian Hills with each playing a half.  Ivlev had two saves and Dalton three in combining for the first shutout of the season.

IHCC outscored Iowa Lakes and Johnson County, 16-1, to take home the Wells Fargo Cup in its inaugural year.

The Warriors play at Jefferson (Mo.) College on Wednesday, then host Hawkeye CC in a conference matchup this Saturday afternoon.
